5 Safety Rules for Site Delivery
Delivery day is when most site accidents happen. A 5-tonne tipper backing into a narrow compound, offloading heavy pallets, and a crew that hasn't had its morning tea yet — that's a recipe for someone getting hurt. We've been delivering to sites across Accra for years, and the rules below are what we train our drivers on and what we ask our customers to enforce.
## The Non-Negotiables
1. **Clear the drop zone** — no children, no tools, no parked vehicles within 10 metres
2. **Ground check** — verify the surface can take the truck's axle weight before it reverses in
3. **Spotter required** — one person guiding the driver, with clear hand signals only
4. **PPE on everyone** — hard hats and steel-toe boots for anyone near the offload
5. **Sign the delivery note after count** — never before, even if it slows things down
If your site can't meet these, we'd rather reschedule than risk an injury. Our drivers will walk away from an unsafe drop and we'll rebook for the next day at no extra charge.
