Behind the Scenes: Shooting a Brand Commercial
We recently wrapped a 60-second commercial for a local skincare brand, and the shoot was a reminder of how much work goes into every second of footage you see on your screen. The day started at 5am with a pre-call at the studio, going over the shot list and setting up lighting. By 7am, we had hair and makeup rolling while our DP blocked the first scene. We shot for twelve hours, capturing every angle, every expression, every product beauty shot. That entire day produced roughly three hours of raw footage — which we then edited down over the next two weeks to the final 60-second spot. The takeaway? Great commercials are not lucky shots. They are the result of obsessive planning, relentless shooting, and meticulous editing. If you are considering a commercial for your brand, come with a clear vision but trust the process — the magic happens in the details.
