Our Custom Bridal Process: Consult to Fitting
Custom bridal can feel intimidating the first time you walk through it, so we wrote this guide to take the mystery out of what actually happens between your first consultation and your final fitting. If you have ever wondered what 10-14 weeks of bridal design really looks like, read on.
## The Four Stages
1. **Consultation** — a 90-minute in-studio session where we explore silhouettes, browse fabrics, and sketch
2. **Toile fitting** — we build a calico mock-up of your gown so you can see the shape before we cut the real fabric
3. **Construction fitting** — the real fabric comes together over 2-3 fittings with small adjustments at each
4. **Final fitting and hand-off** — including a preservation pack so your dress lasts for generations
Most brides come in knowing roughly what they want, but the magic happens in the conversation. We have had brides leave their consultation with a totally different vision than they walked in with, and every time it ends up being exactly right. If you are planning a wedding in the next year, book your consultation early — our calendar books out 3-4 months in advance.
