Behind the Mic: Our Recording Setup
A lot of listeners ask us what we use to record Wavelength, so here is a full breakdown of our setup. Microphones: we run Shure SM7B mics for every host and remote guest — they are the standard for a reason, handling room noise incredibly well and giving that warm, broadcast-ready tone. Interface: a Rodecaster Pro II for in-studio recordings, which handles multiple mic inputs, processing, and mixing in one box. Remote recording: we use Riverside for video interviews and SquadCast for audio-only. Editing: Adobe Audition for standard edits, Descript for quick transcription-based cleanup, and iZotope RX for anything that needs serious noise repair. Headphones: Sony MDR-7506 for everyone on the team. Room: a small treated studio in East Legon with acoustic panels, bass traps, and a custom-built voice-over booth for solo recordings. It is not the fanciest setup in the world, but it is honest, reliable, and built to scale as we grow.
