How to Pitch Yourself as a Podcast Guest
We get dozens of guest pitches every week, and most of them go straight to the no pile — not because the person is not interesting, but because the pitch is badly put together. Here are five things that make a guest pitch actually land. First, know the show. Name-drop an episode that resonated with you and connect your topic to something we have already discussed. Second, lead with the audience, not with yourself. What will our listeners get out of this conversation? Third, pitch a specific angle, not a general bio. Saying you are a founder is not a pitch; saying you want to talk about the three biggest lies about bootstrapping a business is. Fourth, keep it short. If your pitch runs longer than two paragraphs, it is too long. Fifth, make it easy to say yes — include links to your work, sample clips of past interviews, and a few proposed dates. Do these things and your pitch will stand out instantly.
