Akpene is a Ghanaian traditional and digital visual artist whose work explores emotional resonance and self awareness. Drawing inspiration from her mental state, canon life experiences, and ever-evolving worldview, Akpene views art as a liberating form of self-expression and a way to offer insight into her inner world.
Her artistic journey began in childhood, using drawing to process complex emotions that were hard for her to understand and express. Since then, Akpene has honed her skills and embraced sculpting as an exciting new avenue. Through her art, Akpene aspires to create connections, leaving viewers feeling seen, heard, and perhaps even healed.
